How to Find Trustworthy Marketing Companies for Insurance Agents

Don’t lie.

For me it was just last week.

Last Wednesday I found out a service I used on one of my websites (not this site) had been sending my visitors to a different website against their will.

I felt angry. I felt betrayed. I felt dumb.

I also felt poor because the lost traffic over several months cost me a lot of money!

The experience got me thinking about how hard it can be to find trustworthy companies online and I thought about all the times I’ve seen insurance agents pour thousands of dollars into scammy products.

I had to do something.

So I spent my entire weekend creating…

The Insurance Agent Resource Directory


What is it?

An online directory of trusted companies that sell products or services to insurance agents.

Who gets to be in it?

I only include companies in two cases:

  1. I have personally used the company and love their product or service.
  2. Multiple insurance agents who are paying customers recommend it to me.

Can companies pay to be on my list?


The directory is for trustworthy and reliable companies only. No company has paid a dime to be added and never will.

Why did I build this vendor directory?

I want to stop agents from paying for lousy services.

  • I’ve seen agents blow hundreds of thousands of dollars buying products and services online that were nothing more than scams.
  • If your agency is like many others, your marketing budget is thinner this year than last. You can’t afford to pay for something that isn’t proven to work.

I want to make it easy for agents to try new things.

  • It’s hard enough to start something new or change vendors. Sometimes the challenge of finding a good company prevents positive progress from happening.
  • With the InsuranceSplash recommended vendor list you know you’re choosing from companies that have proven to provide great customer service and high quality products.

I want to spread the word about anything that grows insurance agencies.

  • If there’s a company out there that can help you grow your agency, I want to tell you about it.
  • I interact with hundreds of agents every month and constantly hear about great products and services. It’d be unfair to keep that information to myself!

Only recommend a company to me if you’ve personally paid for their services and seen positive repeatable results.

    This is awesome John – Thank so much for taking the time to do this.

    I wanted to get a website going for myself and all the other good stuff that go along with running a site. Having a “go-to” place with reliable and trust worthy services will really save a lot of research time and of course not getting “burned” in the process.

    How about Internet lead providers? Would like to see a list with user reviews. I just dropped $400 on and I have never seen such low quality leads.

      Thanks for the comment Kevin. To be honest, there aren’t any on the list because I don’t know any that I’m comfortable recommending here.

      This is a good suggestion though and internet leads a necessary evil for many agents.

      Let me think about it because it would be great for agents to help each other know which ones are better than others without me officially endorsing any of them.

      Or… if anybody knows a great insurance lead company out there I could research and talk to some customers about, I’d be open to giving an endorsement for a quality provider…

        I agree, there aren’t any *great* ones out there, but some are better than others. I have had pretty good success with Netquote and QuoteWizard recently. I would be just as interested in a list of companies to AVOID doing business with, and it might be a great way to help keep the I-lead industry accountable.

          You’re right Kevin, Let me think about how to put something like this together… If you think it’d be helpful for insurance agents and they would actually use it then I’m 100% onboard.
